Abstract
The article is devoted to the history of one of the most important domestic archives of the 18th century - the Moscow Archives of the College of Foreign Affairs. This archive was a kind of showcase of Russian archives of the XVIII century. Its leaders made a significant contribution to the development of the Russian archive business. A special place in the history of the archive and in the history of archival thought belongs to M.G. Sobakin. The article proves that M.G. Sobakin was one of the first Russian archivists who realized the scientific value of archives and understood that the archive is the most important part of the historical,cultural and national heritage of the country. In the article the biography of M.G. Sobakin, his career, analyzed his views on the organization of storage of documents. An important aspect of the article is the analysis of the difficult relationships of MG. Sobakin with his successor G.F. Miller.

Abstract
The article contains information on the creation of the Moscow branch of the Archive of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR, its work on collecting, recording, describing and using scientific and office archival materials, inspecting activities to assist in organization of records management, preparing documents for transfer to storage.Special attention is paid to the use of a single normative and methodological base for various aspects of archival activities with the Archives of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR.

Abstract
The article considers the situation with the Archives of the Chechen Republic in the first post-soviet decade. It is noted that the reconstruction of the Chechen People’s Documentary heritage,considerably damaged in the course of combat operations, was started.The activities on securing, compiling, maintaining, scientific and technical processing of the Archive of the President and the Government Administration of the Chechen Republic.The issues on the Archive performance were defined and the ways of their resolving were outlined.

Abstract
The article deals with current legislative issues as to documenting and documentation support for searching teams field work. The searching comprises studies in military history as well as exploration of sites of certain battles, archives heuristics and archival searches. Other searching activities involved are exploratory work on the ground, perpetuating the memory of the deceased, taking care of warriors’ burial grounds and memorials, identification of the perished, striving for evoking of patriotic feelings among young generation, etc. Documenting and documentation support for searching teams activities need significant improving. The objective of the article is to draw attention to the issues discussed in it.

Abstract
The article summarizes the work of the Commission of historians and archivists of Russia and the Czech Republic in recent years related to analysis of the documentary heritage and modern interpretations of the historical and cultural phenomenon of the Russian Prague - one of the largest centers of Russian emigration after 1917. One of the major events of scientific life in the study of this subject was held on 26 June 2017 in Prague.It was an international round table “The rise of the Russian Prague”, organized jointly by the Russian and Czech historians and archivists.

Abstract
The paper aims to shed some light on the contemporary conditions of archival management in Japan, by observing noteworthy manuscript collection of Japanese serviceman Kuroki Chikanori (1883-1934) that has been preserved at the Miyazaki Prefectural Museum of Nature and History at Miyazaki city. This archival collection has a direct relation to the Russian history on the eve and during the Revolution of 1917,the Russian Civil War and foreign military intervention, the life and activities of the famous figure of Russian White emigration ataman G.M. Semenov (1890-1946), Japan’s military and political course towards Russia since 1910s to the beginning of 1930s.

Abstract
The article highlights the history of Ito Hirobumi’s visiting St. Petersburg in the framework of the European tour at the end of 1901, based on archival documents. The main attention is paid to the goals of the trip. It discloses the course of negotiations between Ito Hirobumi’s and V.N. Lamzdorf; analyzes the Ito’s project of the Russo-Japanese agreement, and the draft of Lamzdorf’s letter to Ito, endorsed by Nicholas II. The author outlines major results of the negotiations.

Abstract
The purpose of this article, dedicated to the 85th anniversary of the Astrakhan state university, is to study the history and traditions of the university on the basis of documentary sources.The Central Fund for this subject - Fund No. R-2364 “Astrakhan Order of the Badge of Honor” State Pedagogical Institute named after S.M. Kirov of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation“includes 3328 units for the period from 1932 to 1993, that is, from the moment the educational Institution and for 61 years of its formation and development, as one of the leading universities in the Astrakhan region.The documents of the foundation are the main documentary source about the scientific activity of the institute. A special place is occupied by documents for 1941-1945. The Astrakhan state archives store another category of documents, which in archivology are called documents of personal origin.

Abstract
The article reveals the role of the Institute for History and Archives in the modern system of the humanities education in Russia. In 1991 the Moscow State Institute for History and Archives served as a basis for the newly established Russian State University for the Humanities. The Institute continued to develop as a synthetic higher educational institution specializing in historical, archaeographic and archival disciplines. In the history of the Russian higher education, the Institute for History and Archives can justly be proud of being the first higher educational institution which, through the efforts of its outstanding scholars, has implemented a new model of university humanities education.

Abstract
The article reveals the problem of forming students’ positive social well-being. The paper discusses the components of the subjective position in life as the factors of students’ positive social well-being. It describes the direction, the stages and methods of statistical processing of the results of the study: the preparation and the analysis of the correlation matrix, the identification of the correlation pleiades, the definition of the main factors of each pleiade through the expert method of the weight coefficients of importance. The article presents the calculations of the adequate mathematical model of the formation of students’ positive social well-being through a multivariate regression analysis.
