Archival record groups in French libraries: problems of EAD
Abstract
The paper is dedicated to problems of encoded archival description (EAD) of archival record groups deposed in the National Library of France and some other higher education institution libraries. The retroconversion from MARC to EAD, causes and effects of the contravention of the archivistic principles during the Calames and CGM projects and undesirability of the application of this French experience in Russia are analyzed in this article.
