Institute for History and Archives of RSUH today: a model for humanities education
Abstract
The article reveals the role of the Institute for History and Archives in the modern system of the humanities education in Russia. In 1991 the Moscow State Institute for History and Archives served as a basis for the newly established Russian State University for the Humanities. The Institute continued to develop as a synthetic higher educational institution specializing in historical, archaeographic and archival disciplines. In the history of the Russian higher education, the Institute for History and Archives can justly be proud of being the first higher educational institution which, through the efforts of its outstanding scholars, has implemented a new model of university humanities education.
