Серия статей посвящена проблемам организации военно-исторической службы русской армии и использования боевого опыта Российской империи периода Первой мировой войны в начале - середине ХХ в., а также судьбам археографических проектов, связанных с публикацией военных документов. Основное внимание уделено деятельности и изданиям военно-исторических комиссий Главного (затем Генерального) штаба империи, в советский период - Всероссийского Главного Штаба РККА. Прослеживаются судьбы военных редакторов и готовившихся ими изданий военных документов, прежде всего по истории Первой мировой войны. Особый акцент сделан на проблемах организации работы и вопросах археографии и источниковедения военной истории, связанных с изучением истории «Великой войны».
A series of articles devoted to the organization of military and historical service of the Russian army and the use of combat experience of the Russian Empire in the period of the World War I in the early and mid-twentieth century, as well as to what became archeographic projects involved with military documents publications. The focus is on activities and editions of military history commissions Main (later General) Headquarters of the Empire during the Soviet period - the All-Russian General Headquarters of the Red Army are traced. The fates of military editors and prepared by them military documents publications, primarily on the history of the World War I. Particular emphasis is placed on the issues of the organization of documentary publications and source studies of military history associated with there search in the history of the “Great War”.
